For all you traditionalists the 14th annual 5K and 1K will be run as usual on 2 legs but we have added a 4 legged component for all of you who train with your pet.  It’s really not fair that they only get to go on training runs, its time they get rewarded for their service.

The SPCA will be on hand and we encourage you all to pledge a runner, dog or both in order to raise funds for the great service they provide to the community.

Member’s of the Hamilton Police K9 unit will also be on hand.

RJ’s rolling smokehouse will once again be providing the best lunch in the race business free to all registered participants and there will be some snacks for your best friends as well.

Events will kick off with the 1K at 9:30 and all children 12 and under will receive a free t-shirt.  The 5K will go in 2 waves starting at 10:00 am.  Separate awards medals will be presented for each event and all the dogs will receive a bone shaped collar medal.

All 5K participants will recive a free technical t-shirt if you are registered before Sunday night at midnight.

Its something new, it’s going to be fun, I hope to see you all there.

First of all I would like to wish all of you participating in the Around the Bay Road Race the best of luck this weekend.  Please drop by our booth on Friday and Saturday at Copps Coliseum to say hello and enter our draw for some Subaru of Hamilton Running Series goodies.

The weather conditions weren’t ideal but they certainly could have been worse for a Sunday in February.  I would like to especially thank all the volunteers for freezing their butts of for us.  We couldn’t do it without them.

The next race is the Jordan 5K & 1K In support of Red Roof Retreat on April 6th.  Its another flat and fast course  I hope to see you there.

Registration is now open.

R.J’s Rolling Smokehouse will be once again be on hand serving up a nice warm bowl of Chilli to all finishers.

All participants in the Half ,10K and 3K will receive a technical t-shirt if registered by Sunday Feb 18th.

All finishers of the Half will receive a finishers medal.
